To know your actual resolution, press right-click on your desktop (wallpaper) and click on "Display Settings". Change these numbers to your DESKTOP resolution (in my files both values were set to "1024x768", so I changed them to my actual resolution "1440x900") These have numbers (your RTW in-game resolution) In this file, you will need to adjust 2 values: Or: "C:\.\.\Rome Total War Gold\preferences" (or whatever, for non-steam users) In that folder, go to the folder called "preferences", so that would be "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rome Total War Gold\preferences" (for steam users) For the Disc-version of RTW, go to your install folder of RTW. Installing the BI 1.6 patch will automatically patch RTW to 1.5, so you don’t have to install 1.5 and 1.6 separately.It finally worked thanks to HazardHawk's guide on Steam Community: If it says 1.4 you can install the 1.6 patch just like the normal RTW patches. When you have BI installed you should check which version you have via the method described above. The patch program will automatically detect your RTW directory and make the required changes.
